What is League of Legends (LoL)

LoL is a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games for Windows and macOS. The game was inspired by the Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne mod, Defense of the Ancients.

League of Legends is a five-a-side team game with potent learning opportunities for young people in integrity, online behaviour and emotional management. Like traditional team sports like soccer, netball and rugby, League of Legends is an invasive game that ebbs and flows with the state of play.

Teams of five control unique champions, each with their own unique designs and abilities, and work together to take down the opposing team’s base. With over 140 different champions and countless customisations available, no two League of Legends games are ever the same.

The goal is usually to destroy the opposing team's Nexus, a structure that lies at the heart of a base protected by defensive structures, although other distinct game modes exist as well. Each League of Legends match is discrete, with all champions starting off fairly weak but increases in strength by accumulating items and experience over the course of the game.

League of Legends was the most played PC game in USA and Europe in terms of the number of hours played. And in additional information League of Legends was released on October 27, 2009 Riot Games self-publishes and operates the game. Riot Games has signed deals regarding the distribution of League of Legends in Asia, Europe, and North America. By 2013, the game has been released in Australia, the United States, Canada, Europe, Philippines, and South Korea.
